About the Journal

FOCUS AND SCOPE

Journal of Education and Religious Studies (JERS) is a journal that publishes current original research on on education and religious studies using a cross-disciplinary perspective.

The scope of Journal of Education and Religious Studies (JERS):

  • Education: Islamic Education, Instructional Technology, education management, educational psychology, curriculum, basic education and several problems in educational science.
  • Religious Studies: Historical, sociological, anthropological, and psychological approaches of religion, comparative study of the doctrines and practices of religions.
  • Islamic Philosophy: Early Islamic philosophy, Islamic epistemology, Islamic metaphysics, later Islamic philosophy, Islamic philosophy of science.
  • Islamic Thought: Islamic theological doctrines, Islamic movements, Islamic political thought, Islam and human rights, Islam and Gender, Islam and environmental issues, Islam and contemporary issues. 
  • Qur’anic Studies: Methods, Quranic exegesis, hermeneutic, Quranic philology, living Qur’an, Qur’an digital studies.
  • Hadith Studies: Methods, living Hadith, Hadith studies in the West, Hadith digital studies.
  • Islamic Mysticism: The doctrines and practices, sects and prominent, “neo-sufi” movements, sufi healing, modern trend of Islamic mysticism.

PEER REVIEW PROCESS

Every article submitted to Journal of Education and Religious Studies (JERS) will be reviewed at least two reviewers "double-blind review". The results of the review can be used as guidelines for publication or rejection. In certain cases, the editor may submit an article for review to another, third reviewer before making a decision.

PUBLICATION FREQUENCY

Journal of Education and Religious Studies (JERS) published in 3 editions a year (January, May, and September).

OPEN ACCESS POLICY

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

ARTICLE PROCESSING CHARGES

Article Publication
If this paper is accepted for publication, an author will be asked to pay an Article Publication Fee to cover publications costs. The Author will get two printed journal.
Publication Fee: Rp. 750.000 (IDR).
Waiver Policy
If you do not have funds to pay such fees, you will have an opportunity to waive each fee. We do not want fees to prevent the publication of worthy work.

PLAGIARISM POLICY

To check the possibility of plagiarism, using the application Turnitin. The article must below 20% of plagiarism.
Plagiarism include:

  • Word for word Plagiarism. The author uses the words of other authors (exactly) without mentioning the source.

  • Plagiarism over the source. The author uses the idea of others without giving enough recognition (without mentioning the source expressly).

  • Plagiarism of Authorship. The author acknowledged as the author of the paperwork of others.

  • Self Plagiarism. Included in this type are authors publish one article in more than one editor of the publication. And recycle paper/papers. That is important in self-plagiarism is that when taking his own works, then the creation of new works produced must have a meaningful change. This means that the old Works is a small part of the new works were produced. So readers will get new stuff, which is really the author of pour on the paper using the old paper.

1. License

The non-commercial use of the article will be governed by the Creative Commons Attribution license as currently displayed on Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License.

2. Author(s)' Warranties

The author warrants that the article is original, written by stated author(s), has not been published before, contains no unlawful statements, does not infringe the rights of others, is subject to copyright that is vested exclusively in the author and free of any third party rights, and that any necessary written permissions to quote from other sources have been obtained by the author(s).

3. User/Public Rights

JERS's spirit is to disseminate articles published are as free as possible. Under the Creative Commons license, JERS permits users to copy, distribute, display, and perform the work for non-commercial purposes only. Users will also need to attribute authors and JERS on distributing works in the journal and other media of publications. Unless otherwise stated, the authors are public entities as soon as their articles got published. 

4. Rights of Authors

Authors retain all their rights to the published works, such as (but not limited to) the following rights;

  • Copyright and other proprietary rights relating to the article, such as patent rights,
  • The right to use the substance of the article in own future works, including lectures and books,
  • The right to reproduce the article for own purposes,
  • The right to self-archive the article,
  • The right to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the article's published version (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgment of its initial publication in this journal (JERS).

5. Co-Authorship

If the article was jointly prepared by more than one author, any authors submitting the manuscript warrants that he/she has been authorized by all co-authors to be agreed on this copyright and license notice (agreement) on their behalf, and agrees to inform his/her co-authors of the terms of this policy. JERS will not be held liable for anything that may arise due to the author(s) internal dispute. JERS will only communicate with the corresponding author.

6. Royalties

Being an open accessed journal and disseminating articles for free under the Creative Commons license term mentioned, author(s) aware that JERS entitles the author(s) to no royalties or other fees. 

7. Miscellaneous

JERS will publish the article (or have it published) in the journal if the article’s editorial process is successfully completed. JERS's editors may modify the article to a style of punctuation, spelling, capitalization, referencing and usage that deems appropriate. The author acknowledges that the article may be published so that it will be publicly accessible and such access will be free of charge for the readers as mentioned in point 3.
